WB-1 Clear Discharge Ink Base

RECOMMENDED SUBSTRATES:
100% Cotton, Natural Cloth Fibers. Always test your garment first to see if it is suitable for discharge printing. Note: be aware that the garments you order from the mill are tracked by lot numbers, as it is possible that a completely different dye may be used from one lot to the next thus creating a color shift from print to print.

MARKET APPLICATION:

  • • Garment and Textiles

INK FEATURES:
Image Technology WB-1 Discharge Ink Base is a Non-Formaldehyde free aqueous based screen printable ink prints on dark fabrics with a very soft hand! WB-1 when used properly will "effectively displace" the dyes in the printed garment allowing the "printed color" to take the place of the fabrics dyed color, thus accomplishing what is commonly known in the industry as "discharge." Garments do not need washing or warnings prior to wearing.

APPLICATION INFORMATION:
Screen Mesh
110 Monofilament polyester mesh is recommended for large areas and 230 mesh for finer detailed graphics.

Stencil
Direct emulsions and films must be water resistant; the addition of hardener is suggested. SE-2000 Dual Cure Emulsion is recommended.

Squeegee Material
Sharp 60-70 durometer polyurethane rounded squeegee blade.

Mixing Instructions
WB-1 Discharge Base is a clear ink. Add 7-10% by weight of the discharge agent powder mix thoroughly; allow mixture to "relax" for about 5 to 10 minutes prior to printing. Mix only the amount of ink that you will use in a 4 hour period.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:
Ink Handeling Precautions
Observe good Industrial hygiene when handling any type of ink or chemicals. Always wear gloves and barrier cream to prevent direct skin contact.
If ink comes in contact with skin, wipe ink off with a clean dry absorbent cloth or rag. Never use solvent or reducer to wipe off ink from skin.
After removing ink from skin, always wash and rinse the affected area with soap and water. Refer to the WB-1 Material Safetly Data Sheet for further instructions and warnings.

Curing Guide
Drying/curing WB-1 Discharge Inks: It is in the dryer that the discharge effect takes place (electric, infrared or gas are acceptable). The longer the oven chamber, the better because of the slower belt speed needed for curing discharge inks.

The recommended dryer/curing temperature is 350°F @ 2 to 3 minutes dryer chamber retention time.

Storage
Mix only the amount of ink that you will use in a 4 hour period. To avoid ink contamination never mix used inks with unused inks. All inks should be kept in airtight containers.
